6. Document Storage & Processing

When you use our document management portal to upload, store, or manage business documents, the following applies:

  • What We Store: Uploaded files (PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX), file metadata (name, size, type, category, upload date), and associated customer identifiers
  • Storage Location: Documents are stored in AWS S3 in the US-East-1 region with server-side encryption (AES-256)
  • Access Controls: Documents are only accessible to the uploading customer and authorized GeauxFile administrators
  • Retention: Documents are retained for the duration of your service plus 7 years. Archived (deleted) documents are retained for 90 days before permanent deletion
  • Law Enforcement Disclosure: Documents may be disclosed to law enforcement when required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or warrant). We will notify you of such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so
  • Data Deletion: You may delete your documents at any time through the portal. To request complete data deletion, contact us at agent@geauxfile.com

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Business records related to registered agent services may be retained for 7 years after the termination of services as required by state law.
