Frequently Asked Questions

What is Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization allows you to get documents notarized via a live video call with a commissioned notary public. You join from your computer or phone, verify your identity, sign electronically, and receive your notarized document — all without leaving your home or office. Louisiana authorized RON under Act 132.
What documents can be notarized?
We notarize Articles of Organization (LLC formation), operating agreements, affidavits, powers of attorney, real estate documents, and other documents that require notarization under Louisiana law. Some documents may require in-person notarization — we will advise you during scheduling.
How does the video session work?
You receive a link to join a secure video session at your scheduled time. Our notary verifies your identity using knowledge-based authentication and a government-issued ID. You sign the document electronically while on camera. The session is recorded as required by Louisiana law. The entire process takes about 10-15 minutes.
Do I need to be in Louisiana?
No. That is the beauty of Remote Online Notarization — you can be anywhere. As long as the notary is commissioned in Louisiana and the document is governed by Louisiana law, RON is valid regardless of your physical location.
How much does it cost?
Notarized Articles of Organization are $49 as an add-on to LLC formation. General notarization sessions are $75 per session. Notarization is included free in our LLC Formation + Notarized Articles bundle at $299.
Is electronic notarization legally valid?
Yes. Louisiana Act 132 authorizes Remote Online Notarization. Electronically notarized documents carry the same legal weight as traditionally notarized documents. The Secretary of State accepts RON-notarized Articles of Organization.
What do I need for my session?
A computer or phone with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a valid government-issued photo ID (driver license, passport, or state ID). The document to be notarized will be prepared by our team in advance.
